Policies and Procedures
Dance Families,
Please review our studio
policies and procedures listed below. We would like to work
with you in order to provide your dancer with the very best
dance instruction.
Dancers need to arrive to
class dressed properly – hair tied back, shoes, leotard
etc. No baggy clothes that will prevent the instructor from
seeing the body alignment – exceptions for hip hop. It
is also important mentally for the dancers to be dressed properly
for dance. Just as you would not arrive to swimming class in
school clothes, you should not arrive to dance in play clothes.
Make sure you bring the proper shoes. Dancer arriving to class
in inappropriate or revealing clothing will not be permitted
to dance that day.
Please, no food, drinks
or gum are allowed in the dance rooms. Water is always
allowed. Every dancer should have a water bottle with them at
all times.
All classes begin exactly
on time. Please plan to arrive to class early with a few minutes
to spare. Any student arriving later than 15 minutes from the
beginning of class time will not be permitted to dance. This
is strictly a safety issue as a student could suffer serious
injury if they have not properly stretched. It is also
disruptive to the instructor and other students to have class
interrupted to accommodate a late student.
In order to provide your children
with the highest quality of instruction, we need the parents
to work with us when observing your child’s class.
Parents may sit in or outside of their child’s class only the
first class of the month. Every room has areas that the children
can always be viewed from. During class, parents (adults)
only must sit quietly and not give their dancer instruction
from the sidelines. This is very distracting to all of the
children and makes it very difficult for the teachers. If
you would like to visit with each other, please take advantage
for the two nice lobby areas upstairs. Siblings are
not permitted in the dance area at any time. Older siblings
may wait in the lobby; younger ones need to be in childcare
or supervised by an adult in the lobby. They may not dance
anywhere on the dance floor or the stairs as it is distracting
to the class.
We are fortunate to have
a wonderful childcare. If you would like to observe your dancers’ class
or just have some free time in the lobby, please take advantage
of this service for any siblings. It is $2 per child. Childcare
has games, videos and great a staff to keep them entertained.
The parent or guardian must remain on the premises while children
are in childcare.
A class may be made up at
another class time during the same month of original missed
class only. One make up class per month is allowed. Classes
can only be made up in another class that has openings.
Any student who knows
in advance that they will be out of the dance program for
a month or more may notify the studio in person or in writing
before the first day of the new month. The student’s
spot in the class may not be held without payment. Absolutely
no changes will be made after the first day of the month.
The students and parents are responsible for notifying the
front desk staff of any make-up classes needed and notifying
the studio before the first of the month for any adjustments
that will affect the billing.
Our class pictures, dress rehearsals
and recital shows are the last few weeks of July. Costumes
are ordered in March.
Cancellations received
on or after the 1st of the month will take effect the following
month as tuition will already have been billed. Please send
cancellation notifications to: tdcchanges@yahoo.com.
Please feel free to contact us
at any time you have questions or are unclear on the above-mentioned
policies – (951) 699-9952 or e-mail at info.dance@yahoo.com.
